Game Recap: Turned Out

Turned Out’s team split across two tables to accommodate all of their equipment. An all-male team using Unity, this team created a gravity twisting game with great graphics.

During development, the game was described as “you’re a janitor… in a scifi factory, and you’ve gotta go places.” Later on in the Jam, one of their jammers was excited to show me this completed animation:

The game is very polished, with a great main menu and striking opening screen. The game features a gravity-defying janitor who uses his powers not to clean, but to escape. Three full complete levels showcased the elaborate graphics, intriguing gameplay, and an evil death Roomba that dubbed The Doomba.

This group tackled the Jam’s theme of ‘perspective’ by creating gameplay around the notion that the perspective of the janitor must be changed by physical change of the device.
