Tomorrow is the Game Jam!
Tomorrow is the GameJam! Maybe today if you’re reading this late. We’re expecting anywhere from 150 to 200 people this year, which is amazing. We’ll definitely land in the top 20 worldwide jam sites and the top 5 in the US, which is no small feat when you consider that this year there are 487 Jam Sites across 73 countries! You can get an updated status at http://globalgamejam.org/status
Because we’re sort of blowing up here I have one of those good news, bad news scenarios. The good news is that we will have some awesome stuff to give away. Here’s a picture of me in the T-shirt.
The bad news is that I was super conservative in my shirt order and we won’t have enough for everyone.
If you want a chance at a T-shirt you’ll need to do the following:
- Sign up for the Game Jam ASAP by clicking here
- Get to the event before your T-shirt size runs out (no earlier than 4:00 please)
Speaking of arriving early, we’re hoping that you do! We have lots of cool stuff planned for everyone including an Hors d’oeuvre hour that begins at 4:30, a chance at a really cool collaborative development area, swag, and lots of other Jammers to meet. We’ll begin at 6:00 with an exclusive St. Louis Sponsored Keynote by Richard Hough who is a technical designer at Riot Games.
How cool is that!? It’ll be followed up by keynotes by Jenova Chen from Journey creator, thatgamecompany, Kaho Abe from the Game Innovation Lab at NYU-Poly, and Richard Lemarchand of Uncharted fame.
Then we will announce the theme, start forming groups, and start making the kinds of innovative, inspiring, ridiculous games that can only come from the pressure of 48 hours and some amazing teammates.
This is unquestionably going to be the best Game Jam ever in St. Louis and the world. Thanks everyone so much for being a part of it.
Oh yeah, and don’t get lost. http://www.stlgamejam.com/directions/
